What Are Your Employees’ Super Powers?
Use a Corporate Retreat to Look Back on Company Success
Often, we are so focused on moving forward that we forget to reflect on achievements sitting in the past. A corporate retreat is the perfect time to reflect. So why not reflect using a hands-on experience rather than just a discussion?
Using programs like our Make a Scene event, which involves teams making movies, employees in designated teams recreate a moment from which there was an achievement to be remembered. Want to make it a bit more colorful? We give teams access to our costume department to create the whole experience. In the end, teams record themselves and view the finished works together during an awards ceremony – Oscars and all – In which they themselves pick their favorite film, actor, actress and drama queen!
Use This Team Bonding Opportunity to Look Towards the Future
Team bonding events are all about focusing on how you’ll improve in the future, so get your teams to become visionaries in a fun way!
For instance, in our The Pitch, event teams square off against one another to create a product – Shark Tank style! Teams work together to create a product that will benefit their industry, talk to potential customers to do market research, put together a promotional campaign and more. All the products are then pitched to the entire group and everyone gets to vote for their favorite. Whoever presents the most innovative product – wins! Not only does this event bring out the fun in guest’s competitive sides but it also brings out the creative side of teams. Who knows, maybe you’ll find your next great product!
Have Your Teams Perfect Their Pitches
Give Back During Your Team Building Retreat
Sometimes the best way to bring a group together during a team building retreat is to involve giving back. Not only will it benefit your time, but it will impact a local non-profit for years to come. There are many charitable events you can organize on your own. You could do a hands-on activity such as our Building Futures event in which teams are put to work assembling furniture items for those in need. Or something like our Blankies & Bears event in which guests fill teddy bears full of fluff and love and assemble no-sew blankets that are all donated to a local non-profit of your choosing. What better way to spend your time on a team building retreat than giving back to the community?
Plan a Fun Physical Activity During Your Team Building Retreat
Team building retreats are all about refreshing yourselves from spending time in the office. Treat your guests to physical activities like a 5K. Some guests may get really into it while others could volunteer to be cheerleaders. This could also bring up discussion in the office before the team building retreat occurs! Who’s going to win? Who here actually enjoys running? Add some bonus fun by making participants run or walk for a purpose. The first top ten participants to finish could choose from a list of local charities in which the company will donate a set monetary amount to.
If you’re looking for something physical and competitive between teams, host something like our Survival of the Fittest event, featuring a variety of challenges that entertain and get your guests teamed up and moving! Guests earn points in several challenges such as being able to hold a plank for a minute, or staying “in” during a round of Sarge Says boot camp moves, played like Simon Says. For those not feeling like breaking a sweat, there are also several clues that can exercise the mind instead of the body. Finish up with scoring the teams to see which one collected the most points to earn the title of “The Fittest”.
Plan a Mental Exercise During Your Team Building Event
Who doesn’t love trivia? Make your team building event a challenge for the mind with a few rounds of trivia activities. You can exercise the mind with our Not Your Average Pub Quiz. Table mates become teammates in this captivating version of team building trivia. Questions could be pop culture, meeting themed or even company related. Your staff will be sure to enjoy squaring off to some of the creative questions you and your team come up with! Challenging your employees with their mental acuity in a group setting will help build bonds as they try to solve the challenge collectively.
