Team Building for the Financial Industry
If you are in the financial industry and looking to invest in a team building event, we have a number of events that really add up when it comes to improving your team’s skills and improving camaraderie!
Charitable Events for the Financial Industry
For finance-minded individuals, it’s all about the bottom line. Your group will love the fact that they got to pump up the numbers for a cause near and dear to their hearts by participating in a charitable team building event. We recommend looking for events that allow you to rack up points that later translate into a monetary donation. It’s motivating and tangible, encouraging healthy competition between the teams with a clear goal at the end. Two of our most popular charitable events for financial groups that do just that are Donation Quest and Money In Minutes.
In Donation Quest, teams get to explore the event area using a GPS-driven iPad app to “unlock” a variety of fun challenges. When they’ve put enough points on the board, they also unlock donations that will help a non-profit. In Money In Minutes, teams race against the clock to complete money-themed challenges, such as seeing how many pennies they can balance off the end of a Popsicle stick in their mouth or seeing how many dollars they can find hidden in a giant Jenga game before it falls! Points translate into dollars donated at the end of the event.
A Number of Team Building Events Perfect for the Financial Industry
Another way to get financial groups motivated and involved is through a game show. Programs like “Not Your Average Pub Quiz” are a great event that can accommodate a varied demographic. It’s also a great way to discover someone’s hidden talents! Is one teammate really good at trivia? Or does another have unusually quick reflexes? A game show allows teams to work together in unique ways and shine as both individuals and as a team. Game shows can also be themed to your event. Want to stick with a financial theme? Easy! You can incorporate company content into some questions, and others can simply play on the financial theme. For instance, you could ask a trivia question like, “What movie is the quote “show me the money” from?” In another challenge, teams may race to see which can be the first to stuff the piggy bank with the coins provided. A themed game show is a great way to re-enforce content while adding in excitement and capturing the attention of the participants.
Dividing is essential in the financial industry, but being divided only subtracts from building a strong team! For that reason, you may benefit from an event such as our Team Dynamics Dash. This high-tech activity presents tasks that put skills such as communication, leadership, and strategy to the test to build stronger teams. Participants do a self-debrief at the end, so they can withdraw information from the event and ensure it pays off in improving relationships in the real world.
It’s a Plus To Add On Networking Events during Financial Industry Events
Getting participants to interact with each other is always a struggle, especially if the attendees are from different branches or locations. At your next reception, encourage interaction through ice-breaking events that appeal to those who deal with numbers. Your group may enjoy working out the odds as they participate in our “Card Sharks” activity where guests have to mix and mingle to create poker hands out of the cards they’re dealt. If your financial group is more reserved, however, you may want to host an activity such as an In-room Hunt. In-room Hunts give participants the freedom to collaborate or work alone as they see fit, allowing teamwork to naturally flow between individuals. For our In-room Hunts, guests receive a handout explaining that they must visit the 6 clue stations around the room. The solution to each clue is a number. They then take those numbers to try and open a locked box at the party. If it opens, they get a lottery ticket or a raffle ticket. Either way, they could go home as a big winner!
With the number of projects and collaboration that happens within the financial world, building camaraderie with your team is the key to success. It will never subtract from your business to invest in developing the strongest team possible!
